Plans for 1999
Miguel Gutierrez, Chair of the South American Node presented the achievements and the plans of their node. Both the 1997 and 1998 State of the Future are now available in Spanish, compliments of the Government of Argentina, and can be accessed via the Internet at: http://global-latino.com. This web site has had 200,000 hits in 10 months' time. Jerry Glenn was brought to Buenos Aires as part of a lecture series which included two Nobel prize recipients. While there, he and members of the Node met with Members of the National Congress, the Secretary of Strategic Planning with Cabinet Rank, the President's Deputy Assistant, the foreign affairs association, and addressed university seminars. Sub-Nodes have been established at the Institute of Political Science in Chile, and in Columbia. Future plans: to set up sub-nodes in Brazil and Mexico and to set up joint activities with these nodes. The South American Node has created memorandums with each sub-Node.
